The NBA Trade Deadline is right around the corner on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at 3 p.m. ET. Some activity is expected as top stars such as Ja Morant, Zion Williamson , Tyler Herro and maybe even Giannis could be moved.

The Ja Morant Trade:

In this trade prediction the main two teams that would be in this deal are the Grizzlies and the Heat. Both have star guards that just need a fresh start somewhere else. This trade would make the cap work for both teams.

The Jonathon Kuminga Trade:

I don't expect the Warriors to get a lot of good offers for Kuminga. He recived no offer sheets in the summer when he was a RFA, and now he refuses to play for Golden State. He is a good player who teams would welcome to their squad but it would be pointless to trade a large haul for him. I expect this trade to be a 1-Year salary dump for a team, or a rebuilding team that trades GSW a vet. With Butler suffering an ACL Tear, DeRozan could fill the hole he is leaving behind, while Sacramento lets Kuminga see a lot of action and prove himself.

The Michael Porter JR Trade:

This is the trade that makes the most sense, in terms of assets, the Bucks gain enough picks + 2 proven players for the most coveted player at the deadline, Giannis. We fooled you with the headline for this trade, but if the Nets and the Bucks had it their way, this would make sense for both teams. Though for both teams, Giannis will most likely decide where he goes, and we wouldn't expect it to be a rebuild team such as the Nets.

To include a more likely scenario, here is a trade that makes sense for the Sixers. They trade away the large contract of Paul George and their struggling but promising sophomore, Jared McCain. The Nets can two contracts, and gain a SG that they can slot into the lineup for a while to see if he is a starter in this league.

The Trade of the Deadline:

This trade features multiple players who have been in the trade rumor mill for quite some time. It is important to note that this trade doesn't include picks in the picture but there would be a lot of picks involved. Every player in this trade could/should be traded anyway, so why not throw it all together in one big trade. The winner of this trade is without a doubt, the Timberwolves. They are a win-now team but need help to get to the Finals. The Pelicans make out here and would most likely get picks as well. The Bulls finally add a big name player to Chicago and take a chance on a rebuild centered around Zion.
