Gianni’s Analysis
Koa Peat is one of the more physically ready prospects in his class. His combination of strength, agility, and coordination immediately pops on film. He plays through contact, finishes strong at the rim, and thrives attacking downhill. In transition, he is dangerous because he can rebound, handle, and make the right read without needing an outlet guard. His ball IQ shows up in the pick and roll game where he can score, facilitate, or make the extra pass. Defensively, he brings real value with his man defense and help instincts. He understands verticality, rotates on time, and competes on the glass every possession. The concerns are mostly perimeter based. His three point shooting, overall range, and catch and shoot consistency are still developing. Free throw shooting will be something teams monitor closely. While he has the tools defensively, perimeter defense and rim protection numbers are areas that need more consistency. If his jumper becomes reliable and he tightens up defensively on the perimeter, he has the profile of a strong two way forward at the next level. Koa is our favorite prospect in this draft but he isn't #1.
