The NBA season is well underway, with the in-season tournament looming, now is a good time to do an MVP race update. From former MVP's to all-stars who are taking the leap, let's take a look at our top 5.

#1 Nikola Jokic - Denver Nuggets (Former MVP)
GP- 11 MPG- 34.7 PPG- 30.0 FG%- 57.9 3p%- 32.7 Reb- 13.9 Ast- 8.4 Stl- 1.0
Jokic already has an impressive stat line with 10 double double's thus far. He is leading the Nuggets to a league best 7-0 home record and a 9-2 record which leads the Western Conference. The reigning Finals MVP could be making a case to be the 2023-24 Regular Season KIA MVP.
#2 Luka Doncic - Dallas Mavericks
GP- 11 MPG- 34.9 PPG- 31.1 FG%- 51.1 3P%- 42.6 Reb- 7.8 Ast- 7.9 Stl-1.2
Luka and his Mavericks have a 9-3 record and head coach Jason Kidd has been able to tap into Luka defensively, which is scary for the Mavericks opponents. Against the Clippers he had a great game on both ends posting 6 three's, and 44 points. Luka needs to keep it up on the defensive end and he could have a legit shot at MVP.
#3 Joel Embiid - Philadelphia 76er's (Reigning MVP)
GP- 11 MPG- 34.1 PPG- 31.9 FG%- 50.4 3p%- 30.8 Reb- 11.5 Ast- 5.8 Stl- 0.9
Embiid is putting together a great season with Maxey coming into his own, it has opened Embiid up some more on the offensive side. He was not effective vs the Celtics on Wednesday night but if he is able to string together great performances against the better teams, he could improve his stat's as the season progresses. He sits behind Luka for now.
#4 Shai Gilgeous Alexander - OKC Thunder
Shai continues to make the Thunder a legit team on both ends, and continues to be the most exciting/entertaining player in the NBA to watch.

#5 Stephen Curry - Golden State Warriors (Former MVP)
Curry has an injured knee at the moment, but he has been lights out for the Warriors, he has 2 - 40+ point games and 4 games with 7 three's.
