2026 Transfer Portal Grades

With the College Football season nearing an end, it is time to take a look at next season. The transfer portal has been busier than ever and now it is time to grade some of the more high profile moves. These grades are from the perspective of the school.

Sam Leavitt

Arizona State -> LSU

GRADE: A

Both Lane Kiffen and Sam Leavitt will benefit from this move. Lane is able to recruit the top Transfer Portal recruit of the year while Sam is paired with a head coach who had made Chambiliss, Dart, Levis NCAAF stars.

Brendan Sorsby

Cincinnati -> Texas Tech

GRADE: A

Sorsby gets a reported $4 Million NIL deal to go to Texas Tech. Sorsby will without a doubt have a chance to win the Heisman trophy at Texas Tech.

Drew Mestemaker

North Texas -> Oklahoma State

GRADE: A+

Oklahoma State makes a much needed move at QB. Coming off of a 11 game losing streak and a 1-11 season they get a high profile 6'4" pro-ready quarterback in Mestemaker. Drew finished 1st in yards and 2nd in passing touchdowns. A concern with Mestemaker as a player was that he struggled in high profile games against ranked opponets last season. In those two ranked matchup, Mestemaker threw for 6 of his 9 INTS in 2025. He reunites with his UNT Head Coach who plucked all of his players from UNT to OKSU.

Dylan Raiola

Nebraska -> Oregon

GRADE: B+

For Oregon this move is good. At the time they didn't know if Dante Moore would stay or enter the NFL Draft. They get a good backup for Moore but that also may mean more drama.

DJ Lagway

Florida -> Baylor

GRADE: B

Baylor gets a former 5-Star QB in Lagway who struggled in SEC play. Although he struggled, Baylor is lucky to get a prospect such as Lagway who has experience against such tough defenses.

Cam Coleman:

Auburn -> Texas

GRADE: A+

Texas gets Arch Manning a true WR 1 with Coleman who was one of if not the best Wide Receiver in the portal this year.

Jacarrius Park

NC State -> South Carolina

GRADE: A

The best 5-Star O-Lineman in the portal crosses down to South Carolina. This was a big get for the gamecocks who for the past decade have had lots of issues on their line, especially recently.

Byrum Brown

USF -> Auburn

GRADE: A-

Byrum Brown reunites with his USF Head Coach as the pair look to take over the SEC. It is a great addition for the team as they look to start off hot under their new regime. For Byrum, he will look to become one of the top QB prospects in the 2027 NFL Draft.

Danny Scudero

San Jose State -> Colorado

GRADE: A

This move has flown under the radar but Coach Prime gets a major additon to the Buffaloes offense. Danny led the FBS in receiving and could look to make himself a top name in college football at Colorado.
