Dame Lillard to the Heat?

The Miami Heat made history by being only the second eight seed to make the NBA Finals. They however fell short to the powerhouse that is the Denver Nuggets.

The series ended 4-1 in Denver, with Tyler Herro seeing no action, Jimmy Butler having his worst series yet, and Bam Adebayo proving the doubters wrong. Now as we shift to 2023-2024 season, what is next for Miami?

They have decisions to make with Gabe Vincent, Omer Yurtseven, Max Strus and Kevin Love. The belief is that Kevin Love will be the new mentor and veteran voice in Miami. But should Miami let Strus and Vincent walk? I believe that Miami should let Strus walk but attempt to resign Gabe.

Miami should put together a package for a player like Dame, Bradley Beal, or even KAT. The Heat need another piece as they can't seem to get over the hump when it comes to the Finals. Dame Lillard has stated that he would want to play for Miami, so he seems like the obvious choice. Dame would take the pressure off of Jimmy and allow Bam to cook more in the post.

Potential Heat Starting 5:

Dame Lillard

Max Strus

Jimmy Butler

Caleb Martin

Bam Adebayo

If Dame is acquired, Miami won't have much salary cap to work with, so they may have to bring back Strus. I also wouldn't mind bringing back Josh Richardson. I think that he would be the perfect player for the Heat to bring onto this squad. His best years were in Miami, where he played 4 years before being traded to the Sixers in the Jimmy Butler trade.

Other than Caleb, Jimmy, Bam, Highsmith, it could be a total roster overhaul, but it could also end up being another runback year with the same squad. We at Sports Vibes are Tyler Herro believers so we would love to see him remain in a Heat uniform.
