The first Sunday of the 2025 NFL Season has officially came and went. In this short recap, Sports Vibes breaks down each game from Sunday, September 7, 2025.

(SNF) Buffalo Bills (41) vs Baltimore Ravens (40)

  • The Bills pulled off a breathtaking comeback, overcoming a 15-point deficit late in the fourth quarter, capped by Matt Prater’s walk-off 32-yard field goal as time expired. Josh Allen threw for 394 yards, scored twice on the ground, and led a furious rally. Derrick Henry dominated early with 169 rushing yards and two TDs but fumbled with just over three minutes left, turning the tide for Buffalo.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (23) vs Atlanta Falcons (20)

  • In a dramatic opener, rookie WR Emeka Egbuka caught two TDs, including the game-winner with just :59 seconds remaining. Baker Mayfield ended with three TD passes. The Falcons nearly tied it, but a final field goal attempt by Younghoe Koo sailed wide.

Washington Commanders (21) vs New York Giants (6)

  • Deebo Samuel scored a crucial rushing TD to put the game out of reach. The Giants never found the end zone; Russell Wilson struggled, and the offense was largely stifled by Washington's control. NYG fans are calling for Jaxson Dart to start the next game already.

Arizona Cardinals (20) vs New Orleans Saints (13)

  • Arizona capitalized on key big plays and the Saints’ 13 penalties to secure the season-opening win away. The Saints look like one of the worst teams in the league, but it was Kellen Moores first game as a Head Coach so we will deem the penalties a "week 1 blunder".

New England Patriots (13) vs Las Vegas Raiders (20)

  • Mike Vrabel’s New England Head Coaching debut was a lost to the Raiders. Sophmore QB Drake Maye threw an early TD but struggled overall. Geno Smith had an eletric first start as a member of Vegas, passing for over 350 yards; the Raiders controlled the second half with multiple field goals by Daniel Carlson.

Denver Broncos (20) vs Tennessee Titans (12)

  • The Broncos beat rookie QB Cam Ward, who was sacked six times and had a fumble. Poor coaching decisions and offensive miscues doomed Tennessee. The Titans seemed to only want to run the offense through Tony Pollard.

Indianapolis Colts (33) vs Miami Dolphins (8)

  • Daniel Jones impressed in a dominant performance, accounting for multiple TDs and leading a revitalized Colts offense. It doesn't look like the Dolphins will be anything serious this year, meaning a rebuild could be on the way for them.

Pittsburgh Steelers (34) vs New York Jets (32)

  • Aaron Rodgers dazzled in a shootout, throwing four TD passes to defeat his former team, the Jets, in a thrilling contest at Metlife. Justin Fields and the Jets offense looked shockingly exceptional up until the last drive of this game.

Cincinnati Bengals (17) vs Cleveland Browns (16)

  • A tight, edge-of-your-seat battle that the Bengals narrowly won. Joe Flacco threw for two interceptions and had over 40 attempts. For a team like the Bengals, you hope they can fix their issues fast.

San Francisco 49ers (17) vs Seattle Seahawks (13)

  • This game was a suprise doozy as the Niners came back to beat the new-look Seahawks. Both teams have a lot of work to do if they want to make noise in the NFC.

Los Angeles Rams (14) vs Houston Texans (9)

  • The Rams’ defense led the way, while Puka Nacua hauled in 130 receiving yards in the win. CJ Stroud looks to be a shell of his rookie self.

Green Bay Packers (27) vs Detroit Lions (13)

  • The Packers’ defense dominated, stifling Detroit in a strong Week 1 showing, with Micah Parsons debut in a green uniform, the fans at Lambeau were louder than ever.

Jacksonville Jaguars (26) vs Carolina Panthers (10)

  • Travis Etienne sparked the offense with 143 rushing yards as the Jaguars delivered a convincing win over Carolina. Bryce Young returned to his old ways looking lost out there at times.
