The first week of NBA basketball has officially dawned. We take a look back on how the first week went from players to teams to headlines from around the Association.
On Tuesday the NBA returned to NBC with two Western Conference games, first being the reigning NBA Champions, OKC Thunder vs the KD-led Houston Rockets. This game was electric from start to finish. It ended in 2OT with the Thunder edging out the Rockets. Following that game the Warriors, behind Jimmy Butler's 31 Points, beat the Lakers (Lebron DNP).
In the Eastern Conference, the Knicks look to be the real deal as we predicted. They won both of their home games this week, one against the Cavs and another against the Celtics. The East has 4 undefeated teams at the moment, Knicks, Bulls, Bucks, and 76ers. 3 Teams, the Nets, Celtics and Pacers are winless. Giannis is currently the best player in the East with 34.0 PPG, 17.0 REB, 6.0 AST
In the Western Conference, the Thunder, who have played 3 games and won all 3, once again look like the favorites to win it all. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander looks like he may win back to back MVP's. Luka has the Lakers looking strong and Aaron Gordon is the most surprising player thus far with his 33.5 PPG. Just 2 teams, the Thunder and Spurs are currently undefeated in the West.
